I TH0UGHT !T WAS– F00L!SH

I think chapter 3 & 4 was a stupid chapter because they should’ve never ran away so they would have avoided the problem that happened. The foolish part was basically the first time where Ponryboy wanted to run away because Darry hit him. If he didnt take in a really bad way and ran away then decided to come back afterwards, he would’ve missed the soc’s from threatening him and jhonny which caused them being murderers.

what really is power?

Uncategorized October 24th, 2007

P0WER IS,Out of all the answers of all the blogs i read, i figured that power really is control. Taking control on anything that is around you. Sometimes we realize that we control someone too much and that is an example of having power and having to take advantage of it. Power by any chance can lead us to anything but its based on ourselves if we will let it control us or control others in order to get to the things we want. Thats what i learned and what i’ve come through about power. CONTROL.

Family-

A group of gang members relate to each other as a family. We all know that Ponyboy, Darry and Sodapop’s parents got killed in a car crash and the three of them including their friends stands up for each other and treats them as a family by how they back each other up form any trouble that happens to them. This shows us these gang members aren’t just friends, their family-related by how they treat each other and care for each member of the gang.

personal relationships vs power struggles

Identify situations in personal relationships that reflects power struggles? —-when two people running for president, they go through power struggles because they are fighting and struggling to have power over something/someone.

Give ex. of personal experience of power struggles situation and what was the outcome?

When i was a little girl, i wanted to be the president of my class and there was another runner and i had to struggle to get that position and afterwards i was chosen as the class president.

When & How do you use power in interactions with others?

Sometimes when you want something, you have to use power to be able to get it and achieve what you want. You use it by the right way, you dont hurt anybody with your own power but you take it maturely and stand up for what you want to be able to get what you want.

Where do you see or have seen power struggles occuring in your surroundings? Neighborhood. Community. Local government.

Local government has a lot of power struggles. I believe that their jobs consists a lot of struggles by keeping our city/state the way it is right now. They probably have each of their own opinions of how to run the place but it has to take a lot of power to have someone agree with other’s opinions.

what kind of relationships do you see in the veldt?

♥—–`The relationship that i see is the the relationship that the kids have with the house. I think it is very unhealthy because it affects the kids minds and relationships with other people specially their parents by the fact that they get spoiled and become lazy because the house do everything for them.

how do you see power and how is it shown?

♥——`I see the power that the house have by being able to give the family anything they want which shows how much control it has with the kids.

Is having everything you desire a good thing?

——-I believe that having everything you desire is not always a good thing because it can cause yourself to always want things and if you are not able to get one thing you desire to get, it will affect you a lot because you are use to having what you want not what you need.

Desire vs Need. Difference? Similarities?

——- The difference of desire and need is that desire is more having what you want and need is when you need it for a certain reason.
